When the project will came to its end, MACH21 expects to have reached to
the following results: software
tools to design and evaluate parallel machines; design rules for environmental
and safety use of parallel machines; new components (joints, arms, measuring
systems, numeric control); new kinematic and structural solutions (models,
production concepts for different applications) using parallel machine-designs,
control strategies, guidelines for manufacturing and assembly of parallel
machines, procedures and standard processes to evaluate the performance of these
machines; construction of three
demonstrators for three different industrial processes.
Therefore, new designed components will become an exploitable output of the project in short term for components manufacturer partners. The design software tools and design rules of parallel machinery may be in a medium term employed by machine´s manufacturers to produce new parallel machines and production solutions.
A general overview on benefits of parallel kinematics systems to be reached within MACH21: more simple and flexible machines, lower costs, lighter machines, with real industrial and cross-sectorial application, using minimum amount of resources, reuse of components and machines, reduction of environmental damages and costs.
